Question No. 2901

To ask the Minister for Health in each of the last five years (a) how many speech and language therapists are registered to practise in Singapore; and (b) what is the average waiting time to get a first appointment with a speech and language therapist through the public healthcare system.

Answer

The data on the number of registered Speech and Language Therapists in Singapore in each of the last five years can be found in the Allied Health Professions Council’s (AHPC) Annual report 2022 on AHPC’s website: AHPC | Announcements (healthprofessionals.gov.sg). 

The average waiting time for the first appointment with a Speech and Language Therapist in the public healthcare system for each of the years from 2018 to 2022 is five weeks.
