SPEECH BY MR ONG YE KUNG, MINISTER FOR HEALTH, AT THE PREMIERE OF ST LUKE’S HOSPITAL’S VIRTUAL CHARITY FILM “BEING SILVER”

Let me first of all, wish St Luke’s Hospital a very Happy 25th Birthday.

2 In that 25 years, the hospital grew from strength to strength into a very important community hospital for the elderly.

3 It started out with rehabilitation services, grew to include wound care services, dementia, a very important area, and today, palliative care, which we can all understand, is actually a sensitive area, especially to many families, but very much needed service in the community.

4 St Luke’s Hospital has a challenge every year to raise funds.

5 It is funded by the government.

6 On top of that, its clients, where they are of low income, can also tap into MediFund.

7 But still, over and above that, there will be patients and families that need extra help.

8 And that’s where you come in to donate generously to St Luke’s Hospital so that you can bring the best possible services to all its patients and its families.

9 Today in this video, you will see five inspiring stories related to St Luke’s Hospital.

10 So donate generously and show St Luke’s Hospital your support.

Thank you.
