Condition of confirmed cases
5. 577 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 40 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 8 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). 7 amongst these 48 cases are fully vaccinated. Of these, 5 require oxygen supplementation while 2 require ICU care as they have underlying medical conditions. 36 seniors above 60 years, of whom 31 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.
6. Case 67610, a 79 year-old male Singaporean, has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 4 August 2021. He had sought medical treatment at Sengkang General Hospital on 4 August for shortness of breath and low blood pressure, and was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on the same day.
